LAO releases new, user-friendly legal aid service brochure
Posted on: Monday, May 14, 2012
Legal Aid Ontario (LAO) has released an accessible, updated legal aid service brochure to meet the needs of low-income Ontarians and community social service organizations.
Available in English or French, this new brochure provides an overview of LAO’s current services, how or where services are available and financial eligibility criteria. It is written at a level accessible to the majority of legal aid clients. Its typeface is clear and easy to read. Other benefits:
- The information is broken out into sections, each including a simplified URL (web address). Readers can type this URL into a browser and immediately go to the relevant LAO website page.
- The brochure includes contact information on a small, discrete card that clients can cut out and keep for reference.
- In response to clients’ requests for an easier and more cost-effective way to print the information they require, visitors can now choose to download the brochure in tri-fold or single page format.
- Community-based social service agencies can contact LAO and request a package of printed brochures or handy single page document to distribute to their clients.
