Electronic request forms coming to Legal Aid Online
Posted on: Tuesday, August 30, 2011
Starting in September 2011, Legal Aid Ontario (LAO) panel lawyers will be able to electronically complete and submit their amendments, bail reviews, back-dating and authorization requests for criminal matters online through Legal Aid Online.
The new electronic submission process will help lawyers to quickly, securely, and easily submit their request forms, reducing response times and eliminating the need to fax or mail in paper-based requests.
Under the new system, submissions will be immediately sent to LAO in real-time, and notifications will be posted on Legal Aid Online once a decision is made by LAO. Lawyers who need assistance with using the new electronic forms can watch a video tutorial, which will be available on the website next week.
Electronic form submissions are part of a multi-phased enhancement process for Legal Aid Online, the secure online billing website for lawyers who do legal aid work.
