Lawyers’ panel information now available on Legal Aid Online

Posted on: Friday, December 17, 2010

A new tool on Legal Aid Ontario’s billing portal now makes it easier for lawyers to check their status on approved panels.

Legal Aid Ontario (LAO) has created a feature on Legal Aid Online that allows lawyers to find out their empanelment status online, instead of having to contact their district offices. This tool allows lawyers to view the list of panels they have been approved to work on, and the dates of acceptance, before they try to acknowledge certificates. Instructions on how to use this feature are available in the screenshots below.

Lawyers may also notice a new communications tool on the Legal Aid Online welcome page. While not yet operational, this tool will eventually allow lawyers to send messages and read updates from LAO all from one location, and is part of LAO’s ongoing efforts to improve services for lawyers. More information on this new feature will follow closer to the date it becomes operational.
