Bilingual lawyer

Sudbury Community Legal Clinic

The Sudbury Community Legal Clinic has a permanent full-time position available immediately for a lawyer who is fluently bilingual in French and English, to provide advice and perform casework in areas including Social Assistance (Ontario Disability Support Program and Ontario Works), Canada Pension Plan, Employment Insurance, Human Rights and housing law, and to engage in law reform, public legal education, and community development.

Qualifications include:

  • Member in good standing of the Law Society of Ontario.
  • Advanced written and oral communication skills in French and English. Candidates must agree to language testing, if requested.
  • Excellent judgment and problem-solving ability.
  • Relevant experience and advocacy skills.
  • Advanced computer skills would be an important asset.
  • Legal Clinic experience would be an asset.

Salary depends on year of call and relevant experience. The maximum salary available for this position is for a lawyer called to the bar in 2009.
