Articling Student (2017-2018)

University of Ottawa Community Legal Clinic

This articling position is funded by Legal Aid Ontario.

The University of Ottawa Community Legal Clinic has a dual mandate: to provide legal services to members of the community and to students, and to provide legal education to law students enrolled in the Common Law Section of the Faculty of Law.

Under the direct supervision of a lawyer, the articling student will represent clients in the following areas of law:

  • family law
  • housing law
  • criminal law
  • criminal injuries compensation

The articling student will also provide summary legal advice in the Clinics areas of practice, and will occasionally participate in community development activities, including providing legal information sessions.

To be considered for this position, candidates must be fluently bilingual (a strong knowledge and understanding of French and English, both oral and written).
