About Legal Aid Ontario
French Language Services
As a government agency operating under the principles of the French Language Services Act, Legal Aid Ontario (LAO) is committed to providing services in French across the province, namely in designated areas of the province. This includes the provincial office and each office located in or serving a designated area, as well as community legal clinics and all other partners LAO contracts with to provide services on its behalf.
We strive to ensure that all of our services are readily available in French in keeping with the principle of Active Offer. These services, which include communications about services, may be provided over the counter, on the telephone, in person, through technology and information systems (e.g. voice mail, PeopleSoftTM), or in writing.
